Hudson Valley Paper Company
is a privately owned, independent printing paper
merchant founded in Albany, NY, in
1875, and believed to be the oldest paper
merchant still owned by the same family.
Samantha Jones,
President, represents the fifth generation of Jones
Family ownership. She succeeds her father, Sydney Tucker Jones III, who retired from the role of
President after 43 years of service in 2010.
The current
management team focuses on delivering value to our
customers by combining ingenuity with a rich history of
relationships and industry expertise. Tucker Jones
continues to contribute his knowledge and experience by
serving as Chairman of the Board and Treasurer. Joining
Tucker and Samantha are Kurt Van Steemburg, Executive
Vice President of Sales & Marketing, and Andy Rosen,
Controller. With over 30 years of experience in the
paper industry from both the mill and merchant
perspective, Kurt is able to provide in-depth
consultative advice to both our printer and end users
customers. Andy Rosen brings financial expertise
that ensures effective, mutually beneficial partnership
with our customers. We continuously seek new ways we can
serve and advance our customers.
Women owners have
long been a part of our history but as of 2007, a
majority of our shares outstanding are now owned by
women family members. We are a proud founding member of
the Association of Independent Printing Paper Merchants,
as well as members of the National
Paper Trade Association and the
National Association of Wholesale
Distributors. In 2007, the company became an official FSC
Certified Merchant, now approved to stock, market and
sell papers certified by the Forest Stewardship Council.

130
Our ability
to prosper for more than 130 years serves as a
testimonial to our stability, adaptability, and most
importantly, our people. Though we have marketed a
variety of industrial and specialty products over the
years, our traditional focus has been on commercial
printing and publishing paper. Most recently, we have
expanded into the distribution of technology products for
offices and data centers. Serving customers from Boston
to Buffalo, we operate primarily out of 4 warehouses: Albany,
NY; Burlington, VT;
Hartford, CT; and Rochester, NY.
Our regional model enables us not only proximity to our
customers but the flexibility to serve their changing
needs effectively.
In over 130 years the people have changed but the
philosophy has not; Hudson Valley Paper still offers the
best qualities of paper and products available,
maintains broad inventories in each of its locations,
and continues to instill in our employees a spirit of
service .
